Why organisations prioritise LGBTQIA+ inclusion

Many organisations recognise the importance of creating safer environments for LGBTQIA+ staff, clients and customers - but it can sometimes be difficult to know what meaningful inclusion looks like in practice.

Research consistently shows that when people feel safe to be open about who they are at work, teams thrive. Organisations see stronger collaboration, greater creativity, improved staff retention and healthier workplace cultures.

Organisations prioritise LGBTQIA+ inclusion to:

Meet legal obligations, including responsibilities under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, Positive Duty reforms and state anti-discrimination legislation

Fulfil workplace health and safety duties, including providing psychological and physical safety under Work Occupational, Health and Safety laws

Reduce the risk of discrimination, harassment and gendered violence

Strengthen reputation and build trust with clients, customers and communities

Create healthier, happier and more effective teams

Every talk, workshop and advisory session is tailored to your context

I design and deliver keynotes, workshops and advisory support shaped around your organisation, your people and the outcomes you want to achieve.

That means taking the time to understand your context - your sector, your challenges and where your audience is at - and tailoring the content accordingly. From the examples and case studies I use, to the tone, focus areas and practical strategies shared, each session is intentionally designed to feel relevant and accessible.

The result is an experience that connects with your audience and supports meaningful, practical change - not just awareness.

5 practical ways to strengthen LGBTQIA+ inclusion at work

In this short presentation, I share five practical strategies organisations can implement to increase safety and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ staff, clients and communities. These approaches draw on the work I led co-designing the WorkSafe Victoria LGBTQIA+ Gendered Violence Prevention Toolkit - Being Valued.
