FEMME
A Love Letter to the Femme Community
The short documentary by delsi, "FEMME", is set to premiere at the Naarm Documentary Film Festival on Sunday, July 28.
This personal and thought-provoking film serves as a love letter to the queer femme community and asks the crucial question: “How can we better support the femme people in this world?”
After stepping away from the filmmaking industry for several years, delsi has returned with a powerful vision. "FEMME" was born from a desire to see more queer femme representation in media and to highlight both the challenges and the joys of this identity. Self-funded and independently produced, the documentary captures the essence of the femme experience and aims to inspire young femme individuals and those discovering their femme-ness.
"I wanted to show young femme people, and those discovering their femme-ness, all the wonderful things to look forward to. I also wanted to explore how we can work together to better support this vital facet of our collective identity."
"FEMME" would not have been possible without the collaboration of talented individuals who believed in the mission. Special thanks to Katrin Tartsus for shooting and editing the entire documentary, and to all the beautiful people who shared their stories, making this film a reality.
